The RMHC Charity auction is tonight and I am excited about it. Of course I am hoping that there is a big turnout for the charity which does lots of amazing work for the families of sick children. I also am excited a little bit to see how my photos do. I hope that they raise a lot of money for the group and that the attendees see as much beauty in each one as I do.
I have also entered into a co-marketing agreement with a local coutourier. I am very excited about that! He has lots of amazing clothes for men and women that I know will look just amazing. We havent scheduled the first shoot yet, but its coming so be on the lookout!

Oh! What a Month I have been having!
I have had two hard drives fail. These drives contained all of my photo work and all of my system back-ups. Do you have any idea how incredibly scary it is to find out that your back-up disk has become corrupt when you go to actually restore from your back-up. I was mortified. Luckily, after years of working in IT, I had a redundant back-up stored in a fire safe. I didn’t lose much data, a few edits of my Niece and Nephews portraits from this summer. That minor loss has a deeper emotional impact than anything. At least I can always re-do the edits. That has been frustrating and time consuming recovering all of that data.
It also turns out that the secure models portion of my site has gone down. There was some mishap at Go-Daddy that caused the page to fail loading. No data has been lost here, but It has been painful trying to recover the site. Go-Daddy won’t provide any support for debugging the app. I should have that back up this weekend.
I have had some requests for additional features for the store. I am still working on those and hope to have them up soon.

I have been asked to donate some photographs to the Nashville Ronald McDonald House Charity auction. This is a really worth cause and I am glad to help. The event is also a wine tatsing being held at the Jaguar Porsche Audi delaership on Franklin Road. Too bad we won’t get to test drive anything, LOL. I will be exhibiting three photographs. One of these is the all time favorite photo of mine I took of the Cantebury Cathedral on Christams Eve 1998. If you are in Nashville or the surrounding areas, please enter a bid.
The next Photo is an older one from my catalog that has always received positive feedback. I personally find it very striking and it is in fact hanging in my own home. The model in the photo, Levi Dai, is a master of several eastern spiritual techniques and has a great sense of inner calm. I find the contrast between that and the intensity in this photo most striking.
This last photo is one that happened almost by accident. As I was shooting the female model infront of the sculpture, I noticed the reflections being picked up. I asked the male model to step int the frame so that his reflection was caught in the metal. Everyone who sees this photo sees something a little different. I think it is something of a Rorschach test!

OK, SO I admit that I am the internets worst blogger! I haven’t updated this blog in eternity and I should have. So many things are going on. I have been spending a lot of time lately on the business side of Robert Rhea Photography. I am now a legal LLC in Tennessee, and if you take a look at the web store, ecommerce.robertrheaphotography.com, you will see that I have spent a lot of time updating and completing it. A lot of effort has gone into the user interface to make it much easier and much more intuitive for the user to select what photos they may want on products. I also added a special feature so that I can choose customized selections for each customer that are private to them. So come on everybody, join the site and let me know what you want to see.
I am planning some exciting new shoots in the next few weeks, trying to get Stylists/MuA’s and models lined up. I am still looking for a couple of guys and girls, so drop me a line if you are interested.
There have been lots of new development over the past week or so.
First, I’d like to welcome Justin Howell to the Robert Rhea Photography team. Justin, a former Abercrombie and Fitch Brand Representative and Model, is joining the team as both Booking Agent and 1st Assistant Director. Justin will be responsible for assisting in scheduling shoots and working with myself and models during shoots. Justin will be invaluable in helping manage the shoot schedule and in following up.
I am also setting up an online shop on the web site. Prospective clients will be able to set up and pay for shoots and services, clients will be able to purchase CD’s of their edited images, and anyone will be able to buy products with any of my published images. By weeks end the credit card processing should be enabled allowing for the quick and easy processing of payments. Check in and see what strikes your fancy, I am sure something will!
I will be traveling quite a bit in the next few months. Mainly to the Detroit/Southfield and Saginaw areas of Michigan. I will be in Nashville on Alternating weekends. I am still setting up shoots for when I am home. I have some new event stuff coming out that I need to finish edits on from some earlier shoots, So keep an eye out for that.
I am having my first public showing. The show is at OutLOUD Department Store at 1703 Church Street in Nashville, TN. When I stopped by Friday night to see how the images were displayed by the store I was surprised to find that two of the images had already been sold.
Needless to say that I was thrilled.
The OutLOUD store is open till 10 PM on most nights and later on weekends. Please stop by and take a look - or take home a print!
The prints are 8×12 prints in floating glass frames. Each print sells for 25.74 per print.
